Felipe Benítez has more than 15 years of experience designing and implementing strategic communications programs to enhance and protect the reputations of organizations, governments, companies, and brands.

Through his prior work with leading organizations like United Way Worldwide, Fenton Communications, and Ogilvy Public Relations, Felipe has designed and implemented communications and outreach strategies for advocacy campaigns worldwide, from protecting the fundamental rights of indigenous groups in the Amazon to fighting climate change to helping protect the rights of immigrants in the United States.

Felipe served as Director of External Affairs and Strategic Communications at the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate/New Climate Economy, a major new international project to analyze and communicate the economic risks and opportunities that arise from climate change and to make recommendations to the world’s governments and business and finance leaders on actions that will lead to lower carbon emissions and more climate-resilient patterns of economic growth and development.

Felipe also helped launch the Alliance for Citizenship, a coalition of pro-immigration groups fighting to pass comprehensive immigration reform in Congress. He has also led outreach campaigns to engage Latino audiences in the United States in health, environmental, and civil rights efforts for organizations such the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These efforts include building partnerships with national, local, and grassroots organizations, health centers, and promotoras that serve Latinos nationwide.

Felipe is considered a subject matter expert in advocacy and political communications, and he is a frequent speaker at social and academic forums for audiences in the United States, Latin America, and Europe.
