Laura is the Promotores Verdes Community Outreach & Education Americorps Vista. She has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Thought and Practice from the University of Virginia with a background in Urban and Environmental Planning. Before coming to work with AFC+A, she interned with the International Rescue Committee’s New Roots Program in Charlottesville, VA. She also worked as a research assistant for a study on the effects of human presence on wildlife in Patagonia, Argentina. Laura is Spanish - American and grew up overseas in Belgium, Bolivia, Turkey, Spain and the U.S. She speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.
