Carmen Enid Acevedo Betancourt

Ejerce como periodista de investigación hace 30 años. Ha trabajado en periodicos de circulación general como El Nuevo Día y El Vocero y en la actualidad es la productora ejecutiva de Bonita Radio, primera estación radial web en Puerto Rico en manejar temas como la cultura, política y la música, desde el análisis y la profundidad.
Posee un bachillerato y una maestría en Comunicación y Periodismo de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, recinto de Río Piedras. Desde los años 90, ha sido galardonada por el Overseas Press Club y la Asociación de Periodista de Puerto Rico, como mejor periodista de investigación y sus trabajos han sido premiados como mejor noticia del momento, de investigación e interés humano.
Falco
Carlos Alejandro Chang Falco (Falco) was born in Cuba in 1965 and works in the field of illustration, graphic design and graphic humor earning awards at national and international competitions. He collaborates with the UNICEF and has published print and digital media in Cuba and other countries such as France, USA, Netherlands, Spain, Japan, Turkey, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico and Portugal among others. He has also published 5 children's books and his drawings have been published in Courier International, Cuban magazine The Jiribilla and the satirical newspaper Palante.

Tara Rodríguez

Tara Rodríguez Besosa: born and raised in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Tara graduated from the School of Architecture at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. From 13 years Tara has been working in photography, architecture, design, retail, art, construction and food, excelling in interdisciplinary projects focused on supporting "lo local”.
The project of “El Departamento de la comida” was founded in 2010, it is a hybrid initiative that is always evolving and does not follow a particular model. “El Departamento de la comida” and their component Efecto Sombrilla consist of a store, a group of volunteers, events focused on food education and consumption of crops responsible practices, a membership shopping and one of the only kitchens in Puerto Rico that only uses organic local produce 5 days a week.
“El Departamento de la comida” is dedicated to connecting the different elements of our chain of local foods, from production to consumption, using the exchange of information, social networks and even more importantly, the food and to strengthen a vital agro-ecological movement. Tara shares her story, both successes and failures, either in talks and casual conversations . Visit farms and agro-ecological projects and transition in and out of Puerto Rico and loves to travel around the world, always knowing different sources of inspiration to increase happiness through food.

Pablo Noriega
Pablo Xavier Noriega Robles es licenciado en Ciencias Políticas y Especialista en Análisis Político por parte de Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Sus temas de interés es la tecnopolítica, el Big Data, la psicopolítica y la sociología del conocimiento, todo visto desde una perspectiva postestructuralista. En su experiencia laboral incursionó en el mundo de la comunicación estratégica y política al integrarse a la consultora mexicana El Instituto Panamericano de Comunicación; así como también en el funcionamiento de la Sociedad Civil Organizada, al ser parte del equipo de trabajo de Benitez Strategies.
Silverio Perez
Silverio Perez is one of the most trusted public figures in Puerto Rico and the island's leading voice in political and social justice commentary. Author, entertainer and host of multiple award winning TV and Radio shows, Silverio won an Emmy in 2014 for his documentary "Paso A Paso for el camino de Santiago".
Mya Pagán
Mya Pagán is a Puerto Rican illustrator. She completed a bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages from the University of Puerto Rico specializing in French and Italian. Aside from her passion for languages she has always loved drawing and translating her perception of the world, thoughts and emotions into paper. After experiencing a "creative block" she used her Instagram account (@myashi) to ask people what they would like her to illustrate. Since then she has been interpreting or "translating" people's stories, emotions, moments shared by them through personal requests and/or collaborations. Her most recent collaboration is the current Wrigley’s Extra Gum campaign where she made illustrations for their packages and commercials. Armando Valdés Prieto
Armando Valdés Prieto is a lawyer and political consultant and a former director of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico's Office of Management and Budget. In that capacity, he was also the governor's authorized representative to the Federal Emergency Management Authority.
Veronica Quiles

Verónica Quiles es socia cocinera del Departamento de la Comida. Nacida en Carolina, Puerto Rico. Vero ha trabajado más de 20 años en la industria de restaurantes, particularmente “fine dining”.
​
Su participación en el Departamento de la Comida es clave por su enfoque en la calidad de ingredientes, en educación culinaria, su experiencia dentro de cocinas comerciales y su pasión por recetas veganas. Vero Vero, su apodo, es también co-creadora de “Embustidos”, embutidos veganos “made from scratch”.

A causa del huracán María, el componente restaurante del Departamento de la Comida se decidió paralizar por estado crítico de sus suplidores, nuestros compañerxs agricultorxs. Desde entonces, Vero ha formado parte clave del Fondo de Resiliencia Puerto Rico, cocinando a diario en distintas cocinas comunitarias, compartiendo comida vegana, organizando semillas y ayudando con las tareas de inventario y distribución de donaciones del fondo.
